In this session, Charlene Bowman will share how their strategic approach to culture and engagement has driven a thriving culture that puts staff wellbeing first.

Carolina House Trust (CHT) has cultivated a thriving workplace culture by embedding a growth mindset, prioritising employee wellbeing, and fostering engagement. Their commitment to people-first values has led to significant achievements, including winning the “People Pioneer Business” award from the Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce, becoming an accredited Living Hours Employer, and earning the Great Place to Work certification with a 100% trust rating.

In this session, Charlene Bowman, People and Development Officer at CHT, will share how their strategic approach to culture and engagement has driven these successes. Through practical insights and real-world experience, Charlene will explore how CHT has created an environment where employees feel supported, valued, and inspired to contribute.

Charlene Bowman is People and Development Officer for Carolina House Trust (CHT). CHT is one of Scotland’s oldest children’s charities and is an independent fostering charity, which aims to make homes to nurture children and young people’s potential, currently with 12 staff. Since Charlene started the role in 2016, her focus has been on improving the culture of CHT through embedding growth mindset, improving wellbeing and increasing employee engagement.
