Lunch & Learn: Building a Workplace Fit for Work

12:00pm
The Circle
Dundee

Open to All, Peer Works

Join us for a lunch and a chat with Vicki Anderson of Dundee-based Altar Agency, a creative digital studio delivering branding, design and web products. She’ll discuss employee ownership, communication, culture and leading people through acquisitions.

Vicki Anderson, Director of Finance & Operations, will share how Altar Agency approaches its employee-owned structure and what that means in day-to-day work. The conversation will cover how they support employee voice, keep communication open, and keep on working on their culture. She will reflect on their experience with company acquisitions and how they’ve worked to bring people with them through that process.

In this session, we’ll also present the recently published Purpose in Business Guide.

There will be time for questions and shared discussion with others interested in improving how work is experienced within their organisations. A complimentary networking lunch will be included.

Agenda

12.00 Arrival & Networking Lunch
12.30 Presentations and Q&A
13.30 Group Discussion
14.00 Event Close

Vicki is passionate about building workplaces where people feel valued, heard and connected to a shared purpose.  In 2024 she spearheaded Altar’s accreditation as a Great Place To Work, helping shape a culture built on transparency, employee voice and meaningful work.

Over the last decade, Vicki has played a key role in guiding Altar through a significant transformation – from a group of specialist brands into one of Scotland’s largest employee owned creative agencies.  A strong advocate for employee ownership and values-led leadership, she is particularly interested in how culture, trust and accountability influence long-term business success.

Outside of work, Vicki volunteers as a mentor at a local secondary school, serves as a board member for Carolina House Trust, and in her spare time runs local mahjong groups and community initiatives that bring people together.
