Ken Reid, Business Development Manager, joined the company 15 months ago after a decade of retirement. Interested in understanding the current networking landscape, both as a personal learning exercise and to support the business, Ken explored the networking landscape opportunities to create touchpoints and connect with other organisations.

After initially investigating what Peer Works offered in terms of networking opportunities Ken encouraged the company to take out membership. Ken has attended numerous events with other members of the senior management team all of whom recognise the value of stepping outside the office to build relationships with businesses that may be current or potential clients.

Beyond networking, Ken appreciates the variety of event topics, each providing a useful focus for discussion and development. For example, following an event on employment law, ITWORX UK implemented several important HR changes.

Most recently ITWORX UK hosted a Peer Works event focused on Sustainable IT, turning what might otherwise be seen as a dry topic into a very engaging and accessible session. Delivering the event boosted the company’s confidence to run additional public thought leadership sessions, which they hope will support the growth of their digital technology services clientele.

As a direct result, the team has already submitted a number of quotations for new business.
